favourite teapot

Some years back while driving home through the Victorian countryside, we stopped off at our favourite second hand store in Beaufort. It's more like an old shed really, and full of all sorts of lovelies. This is where I found my vintage Japanese teapot. People have referred to this as a coffee pot, but I only make tea in it. It sits in plain view on the kitchen bench next to our kettle. I'm precious about it, and if it broke I'd probably glue all the pieces back, but not so precious as to not use it. I can't tell you exactly how old it is, but my guess would be maybe 1960s - 1970s.  I love the pattern.   It's that geometric simplification that's so appealing, and the uniform repetition. A well loved, utilised, and repeated style universally.   I can see this in my own work, but as I approach painting in a more intuitive manner, it's not immediately apparent to me.
