One of the most amazing things about having a large backyard is walking around it first thing in the morning, and seeing what's new. It's akin to shopping: you never know what you'll find! We have the smallest house in the world, but our yard is literally a private little park. One of the main reasons we bought this place. We have several fruit trees, and what they will do, or not do is a mystery that unfolds - just like these beautiful delicate pink blossoms. The blossoms on the tree are juicy buds, but still tightly shut. Too cold for them! However, the few branches I cut and put in water in a vase have opened up like magic - I guess they like the warmth of the house. Hooray for the promise of spring... and more and more birds.
