Howl, who is known by many names such as Howell Jenkins, Wizard Howl, Wizard Pendragon, Sorcerer Jenkin; is a human born in Wales of our World with magical abilities. He travels to an alternate world, specifically the country of Ingary and there becomes Mrs. Pestemmon’s last pupil. He gave up his heart to a fire demon he had caught to keep it alive in exchange for running Howl’s castle.
He also wishes to have a reputation as a wicked wizard, which seems to be difficult considering how he looks.
