Destination: Round Hill Jamaica

001

Round Hill Hotel and Villas has long been the most beautiful and elegant boutique resort in the Caribbean, known for understated glamour, discreet impeccable service and warm Jamaican hospitality. Originally the private haven of style icons such as Noel Coward, Babe Paley, Cole Porter, Grace Kelly , Jackie Kennedy, this fabled gem remains in the hands of 26 "cottage" owners and still feels like a charming private club, welcoming, comfortable and family-oriented.

10

Round Hill wears its old world glamour easily, in a tropical cove where celebrities and families feel right at home. It was the haunt of the first jetset – Errol Flynn, the Windsors, Liz Taylor, the Aga Khan, Fred Astaire, Paul Newman, Oscar Hammerstein, – and Round Hill’s privacy, refinement and five-star service are favoured by a long list of today’s icons and tastemakers.

Days at Round Hill are casual and informal with the emphasis on enjoying Jamaica and Round Hill and the richness both have to offer. Evenings, though not formal, are decidedly elegant and graceful. Our guests who return year after year are our greatest testimony. Round Hill is perfect for a romantic retreat, a family vacation or that business meeting that simply must be a discreet success. Let us spoil you with our personalized service and attention to detail, and experience why Round Hill is one of the few remaining private deluxe resorts in the Caribbean.

The resort contains The Pineapple House - 36 Luxurious Oceanfront Rooms and 27 private luxury villas. The Pineapple House is renovated and designed by Ralph Lauren, all rooms evoke tropical beach living. White stone floors, romantic four poster mahogany bamboo beds and sumptuous upholstered furniture from the Ralph Lauren Home Collection add to every guest’s comfort. The colour accents are white with splashes of pink and blue. The bathrooms have been enlarged and feature deep tubs, freestanding rain showers and double sink vanities by Waterworks.

The Pineapple House comprises of 36 luxurious oceanfront rooms, overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the double infinity edge pool. Upstairs rooms have large louvered windows which fold back to take full advantage of breathtaking views, and the downstairs rooms have patios or balconies.

Are your bags packed? I am so ready. I think I need to visit so I can write a review. This is going to require a little research! Are you with me?

Destination: Paws Up

Picture 16

Byron wants to go camping. I said fine BUT I will only go camping at Paws Up. Byron asks me "what's Paws Up?" I tell him they have tents. He seems satisfied. He then looks ups and asks me "what state are they in?" I tell him Montana. He looks even more satisfied.

So honey, if you are reading my blog, here's the information - - get to reserving. I'll take the A River Runs Through It: Wellness Massage & because I really like to rough it, the Moose Drool Massage: Skinny Dip Candle Massage.

Here's a little information from their website: Paws Up is located in the breathtaking countryside of Montana. The resort has 28 luxury ranch homes or 18 appointed luxury tents. We are talking 1st class camping.
This is a picture of one of the cabins...

The resort is family owned and caters to family and couples. The resort offers horse back riding, fly fishing, river rafting, rappelling, paintball wars, kids camp, bonfires, spa treatments, chuck wagon rides, fine dining, history lessons and every adventure imaginable. And if all this was not enough, Paws Up host a Wine & Bitch every year...

This place is going on my bucket list...

Sun Kissed

I'm back! Thank you my friends for not abandoning me while I took a much needed break. Mexico was everything I needed it to be and more. I'd also like to thank my mother who flew all the way from Texas to take care of Max, Daisy & Bella.  Because of her, our trip was blissful.

I have Grand Jury Duty tomorrow so I will not be back to posting regularly until the end of the week but here is what I have planned:

1. Herb Gardening
2. Awesome Book Giveaways
3. Garage Organizing
4. Special Treat with a "Flowering FarmGirl"
5. Topiaries
6. What You Can Buy for $300k in Oak Ridge, TN

Until I can get my schedule cleared to post, enjoy these pictures of our trip. Am I the only one who actually takes pictures of Architecture & Decor while on vacation?

~XOXO~

The view right out our back door.

Nine years of marriage. I would not trade a single day for the 3,285 I have gotten to spend with him.  Hopefully when you are reading this, I am sitting on a beach with a cocktail in my hand.

I love you my readers. Did you know we have been together for a year now?  That's 296 posts!

Nickelodeon Hotel Wrap-Up & Winner!!

**Nick Hotel, Disney & Universal Studios does not endorse me or my blog.
Other than my American Express number, they have no idea who I am.**

IMG_2872

We have had the SLIME of our lives!

Top TEN must do, must know things for the SLIME of your life at Nick Hotel:

1. Reserve a Character Breakfast.
2. Reserve a Cabana.
3. When reserving your room, look for deals on Nick Hotel's Facebook, Web Site & Twitter.
4. Bring Earplugs.
5. There is probably 3 children for every 1 adult. Be prepared to be patient.
6. This is a Holiday Inn Property. Expect Holiday Inn quality and you will be pleasantly surprised (correction: As of Jan. 2009, Nick Hotel is no longer associated with Holiday Inn. It is an independent property). I just found this out!
7. Dress for Florida. Cotton works. Less clothing works.
8. We rented a car (the resort does have transportation to all the theme parks etc.). Sometimes it is good to take a break from SpongeBob.
9. Building 7 is centrally located. Lower floors are better, you can take stairs and not have to wait on elevators.
10. Enroll the kids in the "Kid's Club" at night. Enjoy some adult time (the strawberry daiquiris are the best).
11. Yes, I know I said 10 but I suck at math. This resort is perfect for kids. I can't say this enough about this. The resort revolves around making sure your "pride & joy" is happy, entertained and safe. In fact, while at Disney & Universal Studios, Max asked to leave early to come back to Nick Hotel to play. I am so glad we spent $400 on Disney tickets and $500 on Universal Studios tickets for Max to ask to leave and go back to the hotel. It was that good...

Winner's of the daily Twitter Trivia:
@goofysylvia won "SpongeBob Potato Head"
@ellencrimitrent won "SpongeBob Backpack w/ Figures"
@lawpup97 won "Squishy Spongebob"
@carogonza won "Squishy SpongeBob"
@ellebows won "SpongeBob Stationary Set"

The grand prize winner (SpongeBob lunchbox with Goodies):

MJS1708

Please email me your address ASAP. Nick Hotel has offered to ship your prize. Does this count as an endorsement?

Another fun day. Pool, tattoos, dancing, sliming, pie-in-the-face, Universal Studios, Spiderman, Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Jimmy Neutron, Water Rides, More Water Rides and sunshine! Another perfect day!

Poolside

Word to the wise: Buy the Fast Express Pass when purchasing Universal Studio tickets. Yes, it adds about $60 to each ticket but do it anyway. When the line said 60 minutes for waiting, our wait was less than 5 minutes. I am not kidding. No waiting. It was worth it's price in gold.
