Today I just felt like making a treasury... :)

I'm still completely smitten with these crayon box colours, especially that delicious bright red... I just want to fill my home with all these bright red details, vintage canisters and trays for the kitchen... Beautiful art prints and vintage dala horses for my studio... and maybe one or two pretty necklaces just for me... *sigh* ...I just wish my budget could keep up with my insatiable appetite for discovering such fabulous finds... !

Talking of fabulous finds, it was only once I had curated this lovely collection that I realised there were three lovely items from Bird Nests and Paper. A great wee vintage shop that is well worth a peek and one that has a very apt strap line for the way I'm feeling today... 'So much Vintage . . . and so little time!!'

Happy Wednesday!!!

etsy faves : trend - aqua and red...

Hello my lovelies... :)
Oh, it has been such a long time since I shared any of my favourite Etsy finds with you, isn't it!? To be honest I had almost forgotten about sharing them here after Etsy had introduced their great 'Circle' feature and those lovely wee Facebook 'like' buttons everywhere. And now, because of the improvements to our favourites pages too, I've lost my lust for treasury making and become addicted to making my own favourites page look as spiffy as possible! But I don't want to leave you guys out in the cold or neglect my wee blog, so today I'm getting my butt into gear and am going to start sharing some of the trends that crop up within my favourites. Lets kick off with some bold, graphic motifs in lovely aqua and red, enjoy... :)

a very royal to do...

Okay, so I will be the first to admit that I am not the kind of girl that goes all gaga over anything vaguely wedding related... Which is why it surprised a lot of people when they asked and I said 'Yes, of course I will be watching the Royal wedding!' Don't get me wrong I'm no royalist, or even anti-royal for that matter, but why wouldn't you want to watch such a huge historical event as this!? When the eyes of the world are watching why wouldn't you want to share in a wee bit of pride for your country... goodness knows that can be a rarity at times!
Of course my other reason for watching was to share in another, happier moment of their story. As a British girl I have grown up with stories of the Royal family, both happy and tragic, and always at the centre there seemed to be those two wee boys. But on Friday, while everyone else was gushing over the lovely bride and 'that' dress, the thing that I noticed the most was how happy William looked... :)

I also had a few thoughts about these two ladies and their outfits, but I shall keep those to myself... ;)

Happy valentines day everyone... !

I've been very much looking forward to today's post and rifling through all the love, heart and valentine themed submissions to 'all colours in'. I'm always astounded by the vastness of creativity that such a holiday can bring out in folk. Over the last couple of weeks I've been following the incredible Abbey, of Aesthetic Outburst, in her mission to create twenty handmade valentine projects in twenty days. She has made some absolutely gorgeous wee pieces, one of my favourites being this perfect cross stitched heart. Just lovely... :)

I do hope you all have a wonderful day and find a wee moment of love or romance waiting for you somewhere... I know I'm looking forward to a yummy fish supper and an evening in with my man... :)

colour your holidays happy...

Happy, happy Monday my dear friends, I do hope you are all ready and raring to go for a lovely holiday season however you decide to spend it... :)

This is my last wee post before I sign off myself. I say 'wee' but I have gone to town with some of my most favourite festive images from 'all colours in'. Thanks to this gorgeous picture of rainingsheep's vintage bottle brush tree collection I have a new found love and desire to start another wee collection myself... :)
Also, I want to thank everyone who has been so generous with submitting their beautiful images to our 'all colours in' Flickr group all year. Putting together these 'colour your monday happy' posts every week has been so inspiring for me and I think for you too... ? You are such an incredibly talented bunch and I am honoured that you would want to share your work with not just me but our wonderful creative community too. As well as inspiring you I really do hope that these posts, and the group, have in some way helped to support your work or encourage your creativity... !? Anyway, thank you all so very much... :)

Wishing you all the most wonderful festive season and a very peaceful new year... !
I shall look forward to seeing you all back here in 2011...

today i'm loving...

Annalela... actually I've been in love with this gorgeous wee Etsy shop since I discovered it a couple of weeks ago, but I'm sharing it with you today in the hope that you will also fall for Talma's stunning work. Talma loves to work with natural and up-cycled materials so that all of her pieces have a low environmental impact. On her 'bio page' she mentions that the aesthetic beauty and function of her pieces is also very important to her. If you ask me, I think she has found a most beautiful balance between all of these key areas and it would be an absolute pleasure to own any of her pieces! I really do hope you enjoy this wee sample from her lovely wee shop... :)

Wishing you all the most wonderful day!

happy december... :)

I know, wow! December already!! So not long to go til the holidays and that 'festive feeling' is really starting to build, for me at least. How are you doing? Hopefully you're not getting fed up yet? I so hope not otherwise you're really not going to enjoy today's five festive favourites... ;)

Of course the classic red and white are my favourite so I have quite a soft spot for today's collection of lovelies. Especially so because of the mix of rustic handmade and folk elements, as well as the simplicity of them. In terms of decorating for the holidays I think that the 'less is more' approach is much more satisfying than going all out with the tinsel and baubles. I do like a wee bit of sparkle though so I think I would be tempted to tie a few beads or sequins to that beautiful wooden tree from Ferm Living, what do you think?

Oh, and thank you all so much for your sweet comments on my snowy inspiration yesterday. Although some of the snow has melted even more fell over night so it is even deeper this morning... :)

Wishing you all a fabulous day!

inspiration...

From our wee wintry world. I love how this blanket of the purest white snow is bringing out the most beautiful details in a (mostly) dying garden...

Wishing you all the most beautiful and inspirational day... :)

today i'm loving...

The stunningly gorgeous styling and saturated colours of ban.do's Black Label couture collection. I'm also loving the romance of the feathers and flowers and I absolutely adore this first one with the gorgeous turquoise Ostrich feather ~ 'Let Them Eat Cake'.

Oh, and how gorgeous is her fiery red hair!?

today i'm loving...

Homely pinks, reds and rich burgundy... :)

As you may know I'm a big fan of bright and bold reds, but as the weather has been getting a wee bit more chilly around here I'm being drawn more to the deeper pink and warm burgundy shades. I love these colours at home, mixed with lots of white or cream with the occasional brighter pops of colour to keep things looking pretty and not too dark.

As you all noticed, even my wee blog re-vamp hasn't escaped my current appreciation of these colours. Thank you for all your sweet comments, I'm absolutely thrilled that you all like it so much... :)

Wishing you all a cosy day,

colour your monday happy...

inspired by light and shadow...

good morning, good morning, good morning!!!
i'm feeling very inspired by this lovely collection of light and shadow inspired images this morning. they make me think of those chilly, but perfectly still and beautiful sunny autumn days. those perfect days (preferably a Sunday) when you can spend a lazy morning with breakfast in bed and the duvet pulled up tight around you, until it is time to get dressed in lots of lovely warm layers and a cosy scarf ready to take the dog for a brisk walk in the park. then come home to spend a leisurely afternoon making lovely dinner of a traditional roast with Yorkshire puddings, lots of gravy and maybe an apple crumble and ice cream for pudding!
ah... daydreaming of a perfect autumn day... :)

anyway, back to today! it is sunny but not too chilly and i have lots of crocheting and a few other ideas to be tinkering with in my wee studio... more about them later... :)

remember to pop by 'all colours in' if you would like to share some of your own colourful images and maybe even see them up here one Monday morning... !
wishing you all a fabulous one!
