colour your holidays happy...

Happy, happy Monday my dear friends, I do hope you are all ready and raring to go for a lovely holiday season however you decide to spend it... :)

This is my last wee post before I sign off myself. I say 'wee' but I have gone to town with some of my most favourite festive images from 'all colours in'. Thanks to this gorgeous picture of rainingsheep's vintage bottle brush tree collection I have a new found love and desire to start another wee collection myself... :)
Also, I want to thank everyone who has been so generous with submitting their beautiful images to our 'all colours in' Flickr group all year. Putting together these 'colour your monday happy' posts every week has been so inspiring for me and I think for you too... ? You are such an incredibly talented bunch and I am honoured that you would want to share your work with not just me but our wonderful creative community too. As well as inspiring you I really do hope that these posts, and the group, have in some way helped to support your work or encourage your creativity... !? Anyway, thank you all so very much... :)

Wishing you all the most wonderful festive season and a very peaceful new year... !
I shall look forward to seeing you all back here in 2011...

Happy, happy Friday... !
Can you believe there are only eight more 'sleeps' to go!? Eight more sleeps until all of that hard work and preparation comes together in a lovely crescendo of a wonderful day spent with those we love. Eight more sleeps til we can just kick back, relax and forget our worries while cooking up tasty treats and maybe watching a wee spot of christmas telly... :) Of course I will be maintaining a strict and extensive dog walking regime to make sure that the munching of said tasty treats is kept under control... ;) Oh, and keeping my fingers crossed for a wee flutter of snow on the day, just a wee flutter mind you... ! What will you be keeping your fingers crossed for... ?

Well, I'm almost finished blogging before the holidays... Just one more post to go on Monday morning, so until then I shall wish you all the most fabulous weekend... :)

diy festive favourites...

Hello my dears... :)
Thank you to everyone who left such lovely comments about my 'feeling festive' cards yesterday, I'm so pleased you liked them as much as I do... :) Although I must confess that when I came to writing some of them last night I was a wee bit hesitant because I almost didn't want to part with them! But it is the season of giving and in the end it does feel good to give something that I have enjoyed so much... :)

So in the spirit of giving and sharing I have gathered some my favourite festive diy projects of the season to share with you today. I'm loving all of these wee projects because they are wide open for interpretation so you can you completely make them your own...

~ stripy fabric trees : LolaNova ~

~ Easy peasy paper snowflake : Three Red Apples ~

~ Felted Christmas Trees : The Purl Bee ~

~ Fabric Twist Ties Wreath : Claire Dalgliesh, p.97 of Gifted magazine from Creature Comforts ~

~ Three-Dimensional Doily Ornament : Martha Stewart ~

I really, really want to make some of these myself and I'm hoping that next week I''ll have a wee bit more time to give them a go. Last year I had the time to put together a couple of my own wee tutorials including my 'super quick festive wreath' and 'poker deck garland', but this year I haven't be so well prepared... :( However, as well as these lovely tutorials I have been gathering together a few others over on my Pinterest pages, on a wee board called 'make and do'.
Oh, and if you know of any other great wee projects, festive or not, I'd love to know about them and maybe share them on my 'make and do' board too. They don't have to be freebies either, I'm happy to include any project I think is great... :)

A very happy Thursday to you all,
Emma, x

inspired by pink paper doilies...

Hello, hello, hello... !
So glad to be here, today was almost another 'no posting day' thanks to our internet access completely crapping out on us earlier! One minute everything is hunky-dory and the next I can't get into any website what so ever! But a wee while ago everything started to whizz again and here I am with pics of the christmas cards I promised last week... :)

Okay so the first one is of my 'festive flower charms' all packaged and pretty just before I sent them off to their lovely new homes. I found these gorgeous colourful paper doilies a wee while ago and knew they would make perfectly granny chic parcels... :)

Of course as soon as I saw how perfectly pretty they looked I wanted to make even more prettiness and set about with some 'feeling festive' cards. Not that I really had a plan I just grabbed all my pretty paper bits, said doilies and some lovely shimmery gold and green card that my Mam kindly gifted to me...

...then started sticking, stitching and embellishing with a few golden snowflakes until I had a dozen 'feeling festive' cards, granny chic style... :)

Oh, and if you are looking for some of these fabulous pink paper doilies for yourself I saw that miss Jessie has some stocked in her gorgeous wee shop 'shop sweet lulu'. Be sure to peek at this gorgeous crafty cake stand she has too, so cute... :)

colour your monday happy...

With a wee bit of twinkle and sparkle... :)

Good morning everyone... :)
There are so many wonderfully festive photos being added to the 'all colours in' Flickr pool at the moment and it really is starting to look a lot like christmas over there. I have an epic post planned for next Monday, which will be my last one before signing off for the holidays, so you can expect an all out festive celebration! But for today I though a wee taste of that twinkly and sparkly magic would be just perfect... :)

Wishing you all a fabulous day,

more festive favourites...

So here we go with a few more festive favourites. Today's collection is a wee bit more rustic themed than my last few picks and there are one or two modern takes on festive baubles that I'm really loving...

~ links: 1. Pale and Interesting, 2. west elm, 3. efinegifts, 4. Plumo ~

~ 1. Anthropologie, 2. Nkuku, 3. west elm, 4. Itz Fitz ~

Such as those incredibly delicate 'Captured Plume' ornaments from Anthropologie. Oh, and those adorable porcelain origami inspired animals from West Elm, although sadly no longer available... :( But I think my favourite of all today's picks is the yarn wreath from Itz Fitz, I love the bold but simple use of those rich colours, very festive indeed... :)

Wishing you all a wonderful and cosy day!

procrastination strikes...

Good morning my dear friends... :)
My apologies for not popping in yesterday with a pretty post for you, it seems that the cold (but very pretty) weather has brought a severe bout of procrastination with it! Because it's all snowy outside and because that 'festive feeling' has struck quite early this year, there's a part of me that has already gone into holiday mode! So not good when there's still a lengthy to do list to tackle over the next couple of weeks. Note to self: hey lady, pull yourself together and get busy!!! ... ;)

Ahem, so today I want to show something I have been able to finish, something pretty and just a wee bit festive. An idea that arose from the flurry of creativity that is miss Delilah, some super cute festive flower charms... :)

I can't tell you how much fun it is to make these sweet charms! They're so addictive, so much so that I had made thirty of them before realising I was starting to run out of pretty vintage buttons, eeek! But I do like button shopping almost as much as yarn shopping so it's a double bonus really... ;)
The first batch of these wee charms will soon be winging their way to new homes as part of freshlyblended's 5th Annual Holiday Ornament Swap, a few will be staying with me (yay!) and some will be making their way into my wee shop later today. I know I'm cutting it fine for the last international posting dates, but that's what happens when procrastination strikes... ;)

Oh, and the festive treats don't end there as I will be popping back later with another wee roundup of more festive favourites. See you later... :)

happy december... :)

I know, wow! December already!! So not long to go til the holidays and that 'festive feeling' is really starting to build, for me at least. How are you doing? Hopefully you're not getting fed up yet? I so hope not otherwise you're really not going to enjoy today's five festive favourites... ;)

~ Anthropolgie ~

~ ferm living : dottie angel ~

~ Owl Creek Ceramics ~

~ ATLITW ~

Of course the classic red and white are my favourite so I have quite a soft spot for today's collection of lovelies. Especially so because of the mix of rustic handmade and folk elements, as well as the simplicity of them. In terms of decorating for the holidays I think that the 'less is more' approach is much more satisfying than going all out with the tinsel and baubles. I do like a wee bit of sparkle though so I think I would be tempted to tie a few beads or sequins to that beautiful wooden tree from Ferm Living, what do you think?

Oh, and thank you all so much for your sweet comments on my snowy inspiration yesterday. Although some of the snow has melted even more fell over night so it is even deeper this morning... :)

Wishing you all a fabulous day!

inspiration...

From our wee wintry world. I love how this blanket of the purest white snow is bringing out the most beautiful details in a (mostly) dying garden...

Wishing you all the most beautiful and inspirational day... :)

five festive favourites... :)

Because while I'm here organising photos and whatnot for the shop I'm getting distracted looking at baubles, garlands, tinsel and all things that are festive and lovely... :) Here are a few turquoise and aqua inspired pretties I found today over on Etsy...

~ top to bottom: 1. gretchen mist, 2. efinegifts, 3. Zime, 4. Pom Love, 5. 5gardenias ~

Be prepared for a few more of these during the lead up to Christmas because there is so much gorgeous-ness out there that is just begging to be shared... :)

Have you had snow yet? It's coming here and soon! It's so cold today too, which is making me feel even more festive if that's possible... !?
