waiting for spring

We have just come into autumn, and I'm looking forward to spring already?! Seriously, I love winter, and aside from going away to the snow this year, I think we'll be having our inaluxe business meetings out on our new deck! Rain, hail or shine, it's going to rock! But it will be a few months yet - first we are replacing some old (just about falling out windows) and then the deck.... should all be finished in approximately 2 months - tops! Just in time for the cold!  Our deck won't look like these as such, but these are outdoor areas I'm particulaly fond of. All from pinterest

Andrew does much of the woodworking, while Melissa handles administration, advertising, and such. Whenever possible, Melissa has stepped in to assist with woodworking, and has picked up a great volume of experience, and has opened her own shop, strictly for supplies, vintage, and findings. You can see her shop at rabbitsreclaimed.

They build almost everything here using woods we source by dismantling and re-milling ages-old piers, fences, barns, and other structures slated for demolition.

garden love

One of the most amazing things about having a large backyard is walking around it first thing in the morning, and seeing what's new. It's akin to shopping: you never know what you'll find! We have the smallest house in the world, but our yard is literally a private little park.  One of the main reasons we bought this place. We have several fruit trees, and what they will do, or not do is a mystery that unfolds - just like these beautiful delicate pink blossoms.  The blossoms on the tree are juicy buds, but still tightly shut.  Too cold for them! However, the few branches I cut and put in water in a vase have opened up like magic - I guess they like the warmth of the house.  Hooray for the promise of spring... and more and more birds. So loving all the birds in the morning... It's totally incredible.  Hope you all have a great weekend! and don't forget to enter our 8 prize giveaway (see post below) + the 30% sale (see post below). little forest

Little trees makes for little forests.  These delightful little things are quite a sight to behold.  They all measure around 30cm. They have trunks, delicate branches, and leaf like buds and flowers. They grew in my front garden on top of a large succulent. I love their delicate, yet sturdy resilience.  I love their strong upright shape, and their quiet reflective winter like mood.

It's nearly time for me to close my Etsy and Madeit stores for my vacation. They will both close on the 23rd of December and re-open on the 3rd or 4th of January.  I'm tired today.
