Fathers Day Sticker Book

I was very excited when I recieved an email from Yaelfran inviting me to take part in a collaborative sticker book. The theme for the Sticker book is Fathers Day, and I've had an absolute cracker of a time working on this. More on the sticker book when it's ready.  I decided to keep with the fox theme, and while I did want to do art work like "dad wearing mums wig" and "dad in mums dress" and "dad in really wrong disco clothes" these came out instead!  Focusing on portraits - such madness and fun.

Foxy Spring Garden

Here's my two entries for the Uppercase call to all foxes. :) I couldn't decide which I like better.  A big thank you to Belinda for thinking of my foxes and letting me know - you are a legend! xo

I would also really like to thank Hazel for the lovely little write up on my work. It was a great pick me up to find this morning. Hazel has the gorgeous blog the art room plant. And what a fabulous name it is too! Go looksie. :)

waiting for rain

Foxy is waiting for rain. This is the first painting I've worked on in ages, and you know what, I really really missed it! I just have not had the time. It's interesting working on different projects - you start one, have another idea, go into another direction, and before you know it, you've done nothing. I have too many things on the go, and I'm behind, and I'm not really getting the things I love done - ironically. The Fox and cloud, flowers are all gouache on paper. Foxy is huge, taking up a whole A4 sheet... I put him here on this lovely linen background as he's not quite finished yet.  Off to rest.

New Card Design Ordered

Well, a bit of too-ing and fro-ing, but I decided on this design to print up. Titled "when I think of you" it will be available in a postcard format size, and a larger print.  Should be ready in about a week! Then into the shop! 

This is an extension of the previous post.  The first draft for the work had the big bird in it, minus the fox, and well, a few different aspects. I really like the first work, but this revised and finished piece just kind of spoke to me in a slightly different way.  It's hard sometimes to step back from it all, and look at it with fresh eyes - especially when you've been working on a design for days.

I love the fox, and I still love that corny "sea within" part. Now it's just double fun (fox + bird).

No matter what...

A new work, part of my ongoing fascination with the fox, and part of my new illustration work. Maybe a card?!
