Spoil & Indulge at BiMC!

Come along to the BrisStyle Indie Mother & Child Market this Saturday and treat yourself to some gorgeous products from Spoil & Indulge. Spoil & Indulge was born in 2008. Sue, the creator of Spoil & Indulge products always had a love of aromatic and scented candles and decided to have a go at making her own. On her journey, she discovered the advantages and disadvantages of different wax types and eventually settled on an environmentally friendly wax that was good for us and good for the environment. Sue now uses Soy Wax in all her candles and wax products. All Spoil & Indulge candles are highly scented but Sue will do special orders to meet customer needs.

After mastering the art of candle making, Sue noticed a gap in the market for natural soap and body products at affordable prices. Spoil & Indulge now has over 30 different types of soap with the most popular being their Goatsmilk Soap. The Body & Bath product range now includes salts, sherbets and lip balms. In the coming months they will be adding bubble baths and gels.

In support of 'National Breast Cancer Awareness Month' and 'Chicks in Pink', Spoil & Indulge have created a limited edition Soy Wax Melt in the symbol of the Pink Ribbon. $1 from each of the Ribbon melts will be dontated to Chicks in Pink.

These will be available at the:

Get Your Groove On at BiMC!

The BrisStyle Indie Mother & Child Market is fast approaching.....it's now only 2 days away and we just can't wait for it to roll around. Apart from all of the fabulous handmade goodies that will be on show we also have an awesome entertainment line-up featuring the very talented Nadia Sunde and up and coming Brisbane band wheeleR.

Nadia Sunde is being hailed as a 'breath of fresh air' in the emerging Australian kindie indie scene. 'Deliciously heart-warming and soulful', she plays real music for kids and grown-ups who want to enjoy something a little more rootsy and organic. Nadia's new album, Homespun, appeals to people of all ages, with 'The Goat and The Goose' being awarded 3rd place in the children's category of the 2009 International Songwriting Competition. Nadia's songwriting is intelligent and soulful, her voice is deliciously warm and resonant, the melodies are infectious and as a performer she is quite simply...captivating! To find out more about Nadia and to purchase CDs please visit her website http://www.nadiasunde.com/

Nadia will be playing at the BrisStyle Indie Mother & Child Market this Saturday at 10.30am, 11.30am and 12.30pm. Her CDs will also be available for sale on the day.

Another hot entertainment act who will be playing this Saturday at the BrisStyle Indie Mother & Child Market is wheeleR. wheeleR is a Brisbane band of brothers who deliver a fresh mix of indie pop-rock featuring melodic guitar, meaningful lyrics and a healthy dose of teen angst. The band is comprised of the three Wheeler brothers, Knox (songwriter/singer/guitarist), Flaxton (drums, harmonica, vocals) and Xane (bass/vocals).

Despite the brothers having an average age of 13, they have had a very busy year. In June 2010 they won the Under 18 category of the national 'RockIt' songwriting competition, with their independent debut single, ASAP. The competition was judged by Marcia Hines. They also took out the 'RockIt' People's Choice Award, having received the greatest number of votes in the online poll. The band's debut single, ASAP, is now available on iTunes and they are currently in pre-production for their debut EP, with a scheduled release date of January 2011.

The Australian Breastfeeding Association at BiMC!

The Australian Breastfeeding Association is Australia's leading authority on breastfeeding. Their mission is to educate and support mothers using up-to-date research findings and the practical experience of many women. They aim to influence our society to acknowledge breastfeeding as the norm for infant nutrition. The ABA will be at the next BrisStyle Indie Mother & Child Market on October 9th. They will have volunteers on hand to answer any questions you may have and they will also have a dedicated space for mothers to relax and feed their little ones.

The ABA's vision is for babies to breastfeed exclusively for six months, with ongoing breastfeeding for as long as mother and child desire. The ABA is a voluntary organisation made up of its members and subscribers. ABA needs subscribers to exist. You can subscribe over the phone, online or in person at group meetings. Subscription rates are $50 per year ($35 concession).

There are over 330 local ABA groups throughout Australia. Group discussion meetings, coffee mornings, new mothers' meetings, social events etc. are held in homes, halls and parks. Trained breastfeeding counselors lead these discussions and provide counseling. Visitors are welcome to attend a meeting before subscribing.
