Meditation

I had a some bad news from my mum earlier today, which is now bothering me, and I wish I could do something to help, but it's one of those things: I can't change the situation,  so I guess when life gives you lemons - paint!  And this is exactly what I did.

I've had a long fascination with repeat pattern, and wallpaper. Aside from the obvious graphic (and at times geometric) qualities they possess, there's another way in which I see them.  I've been meaning to do some work exploring these ideas for maybe a year now, and it's been on my mind for ages. I'd paint in my head, and see the work before my eyes, but as always - once actually realised, the work takes on a different look - which I love actually. No matter how much I plan, it goes askew. It is nice to be surprised by your own creations.  Here are a few photos.
