My grandparents had chairs like these when I was a kid. They sat in my grandfathers wood turning shed covered in sawdust and then every Christmas they would be hauled out and dusted off, ready for a hoard of bums to plant themselves and gorge on the once a year feast. I remember they smelt strongly of timber and wood putty and you always ended up with little bits of sawdust sticking to the backs of your legs or getting caught in your spaghetti sandals.
