Katekyo Hitman Reborn!: Chrome Dokuro and Hibari Kyoya

When she was transferred into the future, Chrome’s physical condition became worse as her illusionary internal organs began failing one after the other. The adult Hibari Kyoya then instructed her to use the power of her Vongola Ring to sustain her organs through her own illusions. This allowed Chrome to escape any immediate danger, and thus prolonging her life.

Decimals videos: tenths, hundredths & thousandths

I have now been able to get back to shooting videos after a long break. These three videos (titled Tenths, Hundredths, and Thousandths) deal with what decimals are (they're fractions!) and in that sense are tied together.

The first video explains about decimal numbers with one decimal digit (tenths) using fractions and a number line. I also include some easy addition problems.

In the second video below, I explain decimals with two decimal digits—or hundredths—using fractions and a number line. Also included an explanation of why you can "tag" or "add" zeros to the end of a decimal and its value does not change.

Lastly, I explain decimals with three decimal digits—or thousandths—using fractions and a number line. Then I show examples of converting fractions to decimals and vice versa.

Vocaloid 2: Megurine Luka 07

If I were to take a wild guess (which I did), I’d say she was from Pink Sweets; the game I’m not entirely familiar with. However, after further searching, I was not able to come across any character from that series who resembles this cosplayer at all.

I’m just hoping my readers’ guesses turn out to be much better than mine. Thanks to Ikehara for suggesting this!

'Romantic by Nature' an Art Exhibition and Fashion Parade hosted by Paris Design Living

In this exhibition Sandra will not only be presenting her art in a 2D medium but also in the form of a Haute Couture Fashion Collection via a collaboration with local Brisbane fashion designer, Jennifer Gifford. Sandra is taking her images from 'Wall to Wear'. Sandra's fabric designs will also be showcased through an Interior Furnishing Collection.

Sandra's work consists of images rich in layers and textures which are influenced by the geographical and social tapestry of the landscape. Reflective in nature, her work has a connection to memory and experience, whilst referencing the powerful forces of nature and the fragility of our environment and human existence. Through her artwork, Sandra explores all that is intrinsically human and in particular feminine. Below are some examples of Sandra's work that will be a part of the 'Romantic by Nature' Art Exhibition and Fashion Parade.

Jennifer, also a lover of feminine, romantic and stylish high fashion has worked with Sandra to create new art through fashion. Below are some examples of Jennifer's work, a little teaser to what could be in store for the 'Romantic by Nature' collection. The 'Romantic by Nature' Haute Couture Collection will not be revealed until opening night.

flea market finds

I've been finding quite a few goodies at my local market recently. This lovely little West German vase was hidden in a box of loose crockery and I took it home for one dollar, chanceux, oui? 

Most of the new things I have found have been destined for ebay (a nice way to earn some extra pocket money and to keep myself out of trouble) but this little specimen will have a permanent home with moi. I figure that as long as I earn more than I spend then I can keep up my weekly hunting ritual without impeding on the household budget and cluttering up the house with too much 'crap'. Flipping some of my finds has also helped me turn over a lot of stuff I was sick of or that didn't 'feel right' in the house any more, making way for some cool new beauties; like rugs and paintings and other bits and pieces. Once the weather cools down a bit later in the week and I can open up the house a bit and let some light in, I'll take a few photo's of my favourite finds.

Gundam Seed Destiny: Cagalli Yula Athha 02

Although Cagalli knew the true nature of the Atlantic Federation, she was manipulated into endorsing an alliance between Earth Alliance and Orb by her fiancé, Yuna Roma Seiran and his father, Unato Ema Seiran. Her arranged marriage to Yuna would finalize this agreement, but her twin brother Kira decides to kidnap her in order to remind her of her late father’s ideals. Cagalli later assumes the bridge position in the Archangel previously held by Miriallia Haw.

the old country

Being born in Croatia, and having spent most of life in Australia, I sometimes miss a little bit of the old world  I experienced as a child. It's not the same as living here.  So this sentimental nostalgia brought up a bit of art from the old country.  Ivan Rabuzin's work really does feel like Croatia. It's how I remember it, and that makes me very happy!

He was born in the village Kjuc, near Novi Marof, Croatia in 1921. Rabuzin's father was a miner, and Ivan was the sixth of his eleven children. Ivan worked as a carpenter for many years, and did not begin painting until 1956, when he was thirty-five years old. He had little formal training as an artist, but his first exhibition of paintings proved successful and he changed careers, becoming a professional painter in 1962.  More information can be found via the links below. Sadly Ivan passed away in 2008.
